A Lititz couple opened a gift shop Saturday that gives 10% of every sale to a local foundation.

Ever-Change Refined Gifts & Accents opened Saturday, October 24, at 243 South Broad Street in Lititz, two blocks south of downtown.

The owners, Dan and Tricia Fisher, ran Majik Rent to Own, a local furniture, appliance and electronics business, for years.

When they sold it, they gave a significant portion of the proceeds to the Maria Fisher Foundation, which they started in memory of Dan's daughter, Maria. "Some businesses are built from opportunity," they write on the shop's website. "Ours was built from love."

Now 10% of every purchase at Ever-Change goes to that foundation. "Ten percent felt right," the Fishers wrote in August.

It applies to every purchase, every time, with no exceptions.

The Lititz-based foundation supports nonprofits that help young people "discover their strengths, build self-worth, and pursue purposeful futures." Among them are Girls on the Run Lancaster-Lebanon, Milagro House and Instruments of Christ Haiti.

The shop has about a dozen departments, from baby and bridal to culinary, pet, and soaps and skin care.

Its makers range from By Candlelight, which hand-pours soy candles at Kitchen Kettle Village, to a fair-trade family workshop in Nicaragua that makes clay luminaries.

There's even a Lititz Fire Company ladder truck Christmas ornament, designed by Lititz artist Bill Dussinger, with a portion of every sale going to the fire company.

Ever-Change is open Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and closed Sunday.

The shop says there's free parking behind its building.
