Happy Tuesday, Lancaster.
Today’s edition focuses on connection in all its forms - caring for neighbors, spending time with family, and finding simple ways to enjoy the season, even in the middle of winter.
Whether you’re looking for something to do or a way to help someone else, here’s what we think is worth sharing today.
Pennsylvania SPCA Lancaster Center Restocks Pet Food Pantry for Community Members in Need
The Pennsylvania SPCA Lancaster Center has announced a recent restock of its pet food pantry - with a large supply of cat food currently available for community members who are struggling to feed their pets.
The pantry exists specifically to support people in need, helping ensure that financial hardship doesn’t force families to choose between caring for themselves and caring for their animals. All food distributed through the pantry comes from donations and is intended to help neighbors who are facing genuine difficulty.
To make sure the resource remains available to as many households as possible, the SPCA asks that visitors follow the guidelines:
Only one bag and one case per person and pantry items are for those experiencing need, not general stocking up.
Organizers emphasized that this program works because of community trust - when people respect the intent of the pantry, it allows the SPCA to continue offering support to those who rely on it most.
If you know someone who may be struggling to afford pet food right now - a neighbor, a friend, a senior, or a family going through a tough season - please consider sharing this information directly with them. Quietly passing along resources like this can make a meaningful difference.
For those who are not in need, the SPCA encourages continued support through donations, sharing the message responsibly, or volunteering, helping keep the pantry stocked for the people who truly depend on it.
Sometimes the most helpful thing we can do is simply make sure the right information reaches the right people.

Daddy-Daughter Date Night Returns to Fox Meadows Creamery in Ephrata
Valentine’s season is all about making memories - and Fox Meadows Creamery is inviting families to do just that with its Daddy-Daughter Date Night in Ephrata.
The event runs over four evenings, February 9–12, with families welcome to arrive anytime between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Fox Meadows Creamery, located at 2475 W. Main Street.
Designed as a relaxed, joyful experience, Daddy-Daughter Date Night celebrates the special bond between fathers and daughters.
Families can expect sweet treats, charming photo opportunities, music, and plenty of space for laughter and conversation.
Daughters are encouraged to dress up - favorite dresses welcome - and dads are invited to join in the fun, whether that means dressing sharp or simply showing up ready to connect.
Rather than a single scheduled program, the event allows families to come at their own pace, making it easy to fit into busy evenings. Ice cream and café menu items will be available throughout the night.
Galentine’s Market Brings Shopping, Sips, and Girl Power to Downtown Lancaster
Galentine’s Day is getting the Lancaster treatment this week with the return of Galentine’s Market, a lively downtown event celebrating friendship, local makers, and women-owned businesses.
The market takes place Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at Annie Bailey’s Irish Public House, located at 28 E. King Street in the heart of downtown Lancaster. Now in its second year, the event has quickly become a favorite pre-Valentine’s tradition.
Shoppers can browse a curated Gal’s Market featuring handmade jewelry, crochet items, floral arrangements, soap products, and other locally made goods. It’s an easy stop for unique gifts-or a little self-love shopping-while supporting small businesses in the community.
In addition to the market, Annie Bailey’s will offer a special Galentine’s menu, with food and cocktails designed to keep the mood festive. Guests are encouraged to shop, sip, and linger as the evening unfolds.
The event is hosted by Annie Bailey’s in collaboration with Erin’s Atelier and other local partners, with a focus on celebrating creativity, connection, and local love.
Whether you’re heading out with friends or just looking for a fun reason to be downtown, Galentine’s Market offers an upbeat way to celebrate the season-Lancaster style.
A Note From The Editor
Hey Lancaster,
Andrew here (the writer and editor).
I hope that everyone has a wonderful Valentine’s day this year.
My wife and I have a lot planned this weekend to celebrate.
While not in Lancaster, we’re heading over to King Of Prussia to checkout the Netflix House.
We’ve been wanting to head over there for a while, so we’re taking Friday off to check it out.
Wishing you a great week with lots of love, fun, and enjoyment.
It looks like we’re in for a (very slight) heatwave. So maybe some of this snow will melt.
We shall see.
On a quick side note - this afternoon we’re doing an interview with Ed Cunningham from The Spot Hometown Deli in Elizabethtown.
We’re excited to start covering more local stories and talking with all our neighbors and friends.
Of course, we only do positive news and share cool things from around the county.
As residents of Elizabethtown, we’re starting here.
But we’d love to talk with many shop owners all over Elizabethtown.
Do you anyone who would love a (free) feature? Just send us an email! You can reply to any email we send and we will see it.
Thank you for all your support,
Andrew
That’s todays updates,
Andrew From Lancaster Local
