Students Go Behind the Badge at Lancaster County Public Safety Summit

High school students across the county got a real-world look at careers in public safety last week at the Lancaster County Public Safety Summit. Representatives from nine agencies - including the PA State Police, East Hempfield PD, Warwick EMS, Manheim Township Fire Department, Lancaster County Prison, Adult Probation & Parole, the Sheriff's Office, Lancaster Parks Department, and Lancaster Department of Public Safety - took part in a panel covering what each role actually involves, what agencies look for in applicants, and how students can position themselves for a future in the field.

The event wrapped with one-on-one conversations, giving aspiring first responders direct access to the people already doing the work.
