COMMUNITY NEWS
Ephrata has a new Mexican restaurant, and its dining room features the faces of Mexican history.
"We enjoyed our meal there! Even learned who Cantinflas was, based on your mural," a diner wrote on the Facebook page of Agave Azul Mexican Grill in Ephrata.
Agave Azul officially opened Friday, October 23, at 120 North Reading Road, in the Cloister Shopping Center.
The restaurant says it spent "the past months renovating and designing this vibrant and colorful dining room with faces of popular Mexican history!"
The menu covers lunch and dinner, from fajitas and burritos to Steak Del Mar, a rib-eye and shrimp grilled and topped with cheese sauce.
For dessert, there's a churro cup: churros made into a bowl, lightly fried and rolled in sugar and cinnamon.
The restaurant invites people to "EVERY Taco Tuesday," and tomorrow is one.
Its taco list includes al pastor, birria, carnitas and grilled fish.
Agave Azul opens at 11:00 a.m. daily.
Its Facebook page lists a 9:00 p.m. close every night, but its website says 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, so call ahead for a late weekend meal.
You can walk in, call 717-863-5193 or use DoorDash.
