Whether you’re stomping your boots at a lively square dance, learning how to cook meals that love you back, or crafting shimmering glass pendants inspired by the night sky, Tuesday offers several ways to get out of the house without braving the cold alone.
With frigid temperatures settling in and another potential winter storm on the horizon, this week is all about community, comfort, and trying something new - without overthinking it. Here’s what’s happening around Lancaster County and why it’s worth bundling up and heading out.
Lancaster Square Dance Brings Live Music and Community Fun to City Hall

Hosted by West Art, the Lancaster Square Dance is designed for everyone - from first-time dancers to longtime fans of traditional folk music. Live music will be provided by The Speedwell Forgery, with calling by JW Neilsen, guiding participants through each dance step-by-step. No experience is required, and beginners are encouraged to jump in and give it a try.
The event is part social gathering, part live performance, and part throwback to classic community dances. Attendees are encouraged to bring cowboy hats, boots, and plenty of energy for an evening focused on fun, connection, and movement.
Admission is pay-what-you-can, with a suggested donation of $10 to $20. All proceeds help support West Art’s mission of bringing accessible arts programming to Lancaster County.

Weather Update For The Coming Week
I know we just got done with a huge storm, and personally, I’m still cleaning up from it …
But it looks like there could be more coming this weekend.
The week starts out very cold with lows in the single digits to low teens and daytime highs only in the teens to low 20s.
Expect mostly clear to partly cloudy skies Tuesday through Thursday, with sunshine giving way to chilly conditions and strong wind chills overnight.
Forecast models and local meteorologists are tracking a developing winter storm for Saturday night into Sunday.
This system will move through the Mid-Atlantic and could bring snow. Some stations are saying it could be a serious storm …
So let’s keep an eye on that as we get closer to the weekend.
Stay safe.
Stay warm.
It’s going to be a rougher week.
That’s todays updates,
Andrew From Lancaster Local
