COMMUNITY NEWS
Lancaster City Wants Your Take on Making King and Orange Streets Safer
More than 50 years ago, Lancaster City converted many of its streets to one-way traffic to speed up vehicle flow. The unintended result? Faster-moving cars and less safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and neighbors. Now, the City is revisiting that decision. Inspired by the success of restoring two-way traffic to Charlotte and Mulberry Streets nearly a decade ago, officials are studying whether King and Orange Streets should follow suit. Concepts are live now on the City's public engagement platform, Engage Lancaster, and community feedback is open through May 19, 2026. This is a meaningful chance to shape how your streets look and feel for the next generation. Share your thoughts →
