Women United Delivers $100,000 to Five Lancaster County Nonprofits
Women United of Lancaster County is awarding $100,000 in grant funding to five local nonprofits serving the health and well-being of women and teen girls across the county. The 2026–2027 recipients are YWCA Lancaster, Church World Service, Girls on the Run, Lititz Public Library in partnership with WellSpan Health, and Union Community Care. The total grew from an initial $70,000 after a surprise $30,000 gift from Scott Burky, given in honor of Kay Burky's lasting legacy of community service - a generous act that turned an already meaningful grant cycle into a landmark one. 🎉 Celebrate Lititz Weekend - Lititz Historical Foundation - 145 E. Main St., Lititz, PA. Friday, June 12 through Sunday, June 14. Lititz is celebrating a remarkable trifecta this weekend: America's 250th, Lititz's 270th birthday, and the Lititz Historical Foundation's 65th anniversary.
Friday's Founder's Day (5:30 PM) opens with a flag ceremony, speakers, live music, and a 270th birthday cake. Saturday's History Festival (11:00 AM–5:00 PM) fills the grounds with reenactors, guided tours, artisans, a food truck, and local historical societies. Sunday, the celebration moves to Lititz Moravian Church at 8 Church Square for a historic Moravian Singstunde and colonial pipe organ tour and demonstration (3:00 PM–5:00 PM).
