COMMUNITY NEWS
A bigger library, one update at a time.
Lititz Public Library has been posting construction updates all summer and into the fall, and its October 2 update says the children's area "reopens in the next few weeks" once it gets new carpeting.
Here's what the project includes, according to the library's posts:
New additions to the building, finished on the outside so that, in the library's words, they "look like they've always been there."
A pergola above what will become a new back entrance, and new sidewalks that let visitors come in through the back or the front.
A new children's multipurpose room, which has been the temporary home of the children's books during construction.
New storage space for the Friends of the Library.
And the centerpiece: a new storytime room in the center of the children's area, replacing the old one, which came down in September.
The latest update says the crew has finished painting and installing the HVAC in the children's area.
The updates come with photos, so you can watch the rooms take shape.
The library is at 651 Kissel Hill Road, Lititz.
